Glamour & Boudoir Photography

What is Boudoir Photography

It is a sensitive portrait of a woman in a relaxed atmosphere done with the intent of creating a work of fine art. Moreover, it is the timeless expression of the essence of a woman's sensuality. The fluid grace of her line and form softened to lend a particular warmth and intimacy to the entire scene. From the classically sensual to the intensely erotic, these portraits are artistic, suggestive, may or may not be revealing and are done with the utmost taste.

Boudoir in the French language is interpreted as meaning Bedroom. Boudoir has now taken on many interpretations. But mainly boudoir has been adapted by many photographers interpreting it as photos with a bedroom setting or in lingerie, semi nude or nude. The client is the one who chooses the degree of clothing off or on, based on the photographers ability to capture them in the most flattering of poses , lighting and scenarios.

How old must I be to have this type of photography done?
It is our policy that you must be at least 21 years of age. This type of photography is meant to be an intimate gift from a lady to that special man in her life.

How does the process begin?
I require a conference before any photography is done. During the conference, we will discuss the type of photography desired, costuming, props and scheduling. Are there any limits on what you will photograph? Yes, I will photograph ladies in lingerie and elegant nudes.

I'm concerned that photos I take with your studio might show up elsewhere..

I have the following policy concerning the purchase and distribution of boudoir or intimate photos. Only the client (the lady being photographed) may purchase or place reorders for her photographs. Not even her husband is allowed to purchase the photos, ever. Texas Grace or anyone associated with it will not use our client's photographs for any purpose other than for sale to the client who appears on the photographs. For the client's information, a model's release must be obtained by the photographer before any photographs can be used for publication, advertising or any other purpose. Just having a sitting with a photographer doesn't give the photographer this release. If I would want to use any of your photos for advertising purposes, I would have to obtain a separate written release and specify which image would be used. Again, just having a sitting for your own purposes does not give the photographer a model's release.

I would be much more comfortable if I could bring a friend, is that permitted?

Sure, I have no objections at all if you would like to bring a friend along. In fact I often recruit their assistance in lighting or prop handling. An extra set of hands in the studio often comes in "handy".

Do you have any outfits or do I need to supply them all?

I have a small selection of outfits and jewelry on hand, however, I suggest you bring some outfits that are special to you. You may have been given something special to commemorate an anniversary or birthday, using these will make the portraits extra special.

I can't pay for the total amount at once, do you have a payment plan?

Yes, the payment plan is as follows. At the required conference, if you decide to set up an appointment, you may pay the 1st third of the invoice total. Then at the sitting, you may pay the 2nd third. Finally when you receive your proofs, you may pay the final third.

What is your style of photography?
Well, it depends on what the client wants, however, I like images that are soft and romantic. Images that are sensual but very elegant are my favorites. The main factor is what the client wants. We will determine this in the pre-photography conference.
